Nigel Mitchell is an educator based in Adelaide, South Australia. He currently manages online professional learning for the Australian Science Teachers Association.
He also owns an e-learning, Moodle and Professional Learning consultancy Education and Networking Australia (EdNet.net.au).
Nigel has taught in Catholic, Independent and government schools, and also served in the ministry of the Anglican Church for over 20 years. He has graduated from three universities and been a staff member at two. He also has experience as a member of the board of management of schools, school systems, youth ministries and training organisations.
Education and social justice are the main priorities in Nigel’s professional life. In 2010 Nigel worked as a distance educator and Information Technology leader at Open Access College, based in Marden, SA. The college provides educational options for over 2300 students from K-12, all of whom are isolated for a variety of reasons and unable to attend face-to-face schooling. Nigel has also offered literacy classes and private tutoring on SKYPE and the WiZiQ online platform to students from all over the world.
